Nursery and Early Childhood Care

Nursery Schedule*

Sunday Worship Hours 8:45 and 10:30 a.m.
Sunday School 10:30 a.m. for Infants and Toddlers
Wednesday Evening - Choir Practice 6:00 p.m.

*During special events, please inquire at the church office.

General Information

• It is of prime importance that all belongings be labeled with the child's name. The church does not assume responsibility for any lost, stolen, or broken items that come to the nursery.
• Our nursery staff makes a concerted effort to enforce rules of safety and good hygiene. If your child has been ill, we ask that they do not return for 24 hours after the illness or condition occurs.

When dropping off children in the nursery, parents exchange their keys for a vibrating pager. If parents are needed, they will be paged so that they can return to the nursery to attend to their child.

Volunteers

Many people are needed to staff the nurseries. We request that each parent agree to assist in the nursery at least once a month. The Official Board has established a policy dealing with the prevention of sexual abuse with children. Anyone instructing or assisting in the supervision of children will be asked to adhere to the policy.

Parental Involvement

It is our desire that your child receive the maximum benefit from our church nursery. Cooperation and communication are both key factors in achieving this goal. When you bring your child to the nursery, we request the following:

• Fill out an information card.
  
• Give any specific instructions that might be helpful for your child.
  
• Write your child's name on the name tag provided in the basket.
• Place it on the back of your child.
  
• Get a "luggage tag" for your child's diaper bag.
• Take the tag with your child's number with you. Return the tag to the care givers when you return for your child.

  A Parent Will Be Summoned
  . . . if an injury occurs;
  . . . if a child's behavior changes following an injury;
  . . . if there is excessive crying on the part of the child.

Immediately following Sunday School, the 2's, 3's and 4's will gather for a time of "Music & Motion" during the break between services. Then children enjoy creative learning centers, contemporary storytelling, and snack time, all of which reinforce the life application of that morning's Sunday School Bible lesson.

Parents dropping off children in the Early Childhood department will fill out a two-part orange tag. The larger side, which includes information about where to find parents during both the 9:00 and 10:30 hours, will be placed on the child. The smaller part will remain with the parent to be turned in when picking up the child.
